Members present: Chairman N.A. Shuttle,rorth Councillors J. Mortensen P. McAleese Wm. Loki er B.B. Plumer G. Douglass K. i araksa Secretary -Treasurer H.C. Scammell The minutes of the meeting of January 7th, 1954 were read and adopted. Moved by Councillor Shuttleworth that there being reasonable doubt as to the correctness of the following accounts, transferred from the School Division, they be cancelled: M. Rebne $4$.50 K. Blake 3.00 R. Penner 2.45 Carried. 11ioved by Councillor McAleese that the Secretary's report of Revenue and Expenditure for the month of Janu-iry 1954 be accepted. Carried.~ `loved by Councillor Ockey that the Special School Levy now in effect in the Rosemary Consolidated School District be discontinued as and from January 1st, 1954• Carried. Aeports were received from the Chairman of the Municipal and School Committees. Moved by Councillor Plumer, that the Electric Cook. Stove recommt7nded by the School Committee for the Rosemary School be purchased from l4'iodern Furniture, Brooks for the sum of x 4321.00. f T_2� Carried. l Moved by Councillor Mortensen, that approval be given to Mr. G. Philpott to construct a dwelling on Wj L.S.4 - Sec.919-14- yr4th in accordance with the regulations of the Department of Highways. Carried. Moved by Councillor Mortensen, that approval be miven to the registration of a plan to extend the eastern boundary of Blocks H & L, Plans 8213 F.W. and 2342 G.O. for 15 ft. in accordance with the letter from Starritt & Mahoney, dated February 6th, 1954. Carried. "ORM 749-P—Special RTNICIPAL SUPPLIES LTD. - 2 - reports were reed with regard to the water supply at the Rolling Hills School. Minutes of the meeting of January 20th and quarterly report were received frorc. the Bow Valley and Iviedicine Hat H .alth Units. Copies of plans of the Aolling Hills, riosemary and Tilley rural electrification were received from the Farm Electric Services Ltd. A petition received from South Hantry School District No. 4963 was re -,_d and ordered filed. Moved by Councillor r`daraksa, that application be made to have the following members of the County staff included in the Su;erannuation Scheme: C.B. Robertson D.N. James G.E. Krepps Carried. The Secretary was directed to contact Harris and Finga.rson with a view to ha.vin- their account of 900.00 reduced. Moved by Councillor Ockey that the auditors' account be paid if adjutited to the County'-. satisfaction. Carried. A letter from the Board of Public Utility Commissioners vias read, having regaroi to the proposed annexation of certain county areas to the Town of Brooks. Carried. Moved by Councillor Shuttleworth, that application be made to 11ave the following County roads designated as District Highways; from Duchess Village to Losemary Village from Rolling Hills to Hayes Ferry Site. Carri ed. Ivioved by Councillor McAleese, that Bylaw No. 96 be given 1st., 2nd. and 3rd reading:: and finally passed. Carried Unanimously. Advice was received from the Field Crops Branch of per- mission to use 111080". FORM 149-P—Special ° F MUNICIPAL SUPPLIES LTD. -3- Advice was received of the appointLient of Paul Lloya as as essor for the County for 1954. Advice was received of the passing of the Ministerial Urger author- izing a new General assessment of the County in 1954, to become effective 1955• Moved by Councillor Arrison that the account of the Bassano Cadet Corps be paid in the amount shown on the statement. Carried. The Secretary was directed to advise ir. A.P. Jensen that in view, of the fact that his failure to convey children on the day in question due entirely to mechanical trouble, no payment would be made for transportation for that day. Attention also to be brou__;ht to the lateness of his van on i7ertain occasions. Moved by Councillor Lokier, that authority be given Councillors Plumer &_Arrison to proceed to Edmonton on County business regarding the proposed School Buildings, and Unorganized Territory questions.
