MINUTES OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
APRIL 29, 2008
A Special Council Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was held in the
County Office at Brooks, AB on Wednesday, April 29, 2008 commencing
at 1:45 p.m.

ATTENDANCE:
1. 2008 OPERATING BUDGET
S. Shigehiro, Manager of Finance, presented the 2008 budget to Council
and reviewed changes made from the last budget meeting.
C-161/08 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR J. HARBINSON that the revised 2008
budget, in the amount of $77,026,398.00, be adopted as presented.
MOTION CARRIED
The 2008 Operating and Capital Budget is attached to and forms part of
these minutes.

2. BYLAW 1644-08 -TAX RATES BYLAW

C-162108 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR A.M. PHILIPSEN that Bylaw 1644-08 be
amended to reflect the 2008 Alberta School Foundation Fund requisition.
MOTION CARRIED
C-163108 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR I. SCHROEDER that Bylaw 1644-08, being a
bylaw for the purpose of authorizing the various rates of taxation for
various purposes in the year 2008, receive second reading with
amendments.
MOTION CARRIED
C-164/08 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR A. EASTMAN that Bylaw 1644-08 receive
third and final reading.
MOTION CARRIED

1:50 p.m.
