POLICY NO: 2009-PLG-005 w TITLE: SALARY NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE ADOPTED: ]anus 5, 2009 W-05/09 SUPERCEDES NO: 1998-PLG-005 TO BE REVIEWED: PAGE NO: 1 of 1 County Council shall appoint a Salary Negotiating Committee at its annual Organizational Meeting for the purpose of negotiating the salaries of employees. Negotiations are to cover CUPE Local 1032 staff as well as all other staff of the County. The Committee shall consist of three Council Members, one of whom shall be selected as chairperson of the Committee. Prior to commencing negotiations, Council shall give the Committee a suggested range on the salary increases that they should try to work within. This range should serve as a guideline only and not unduly restrict the Negotiating Committee's mandate. Salaries for all positions, other than the employees covered under the CUPE Local 1032 shalt be approved within the salary grid, which shall be updated by the annual cost of living allowance. Step increases within the grid are based on performance and are recommended by the Supervisor in the Personnel Evaluation process. Final ratification of the salary grid for staff shall be made by Council.
