POLICY PURPOSE:
Provide information regarding the installation of Road Approaches off a County
Road Allowance.
GENERAL STATEMENT:
1.The County of Newell will approve road approaches on the following basis:
One per farm home site and one additional approach per quarter
o
section, if required by the farmer.
2.Additional approaches will be considered on the following basis:
There must be an acceptable operational need for the access being
o
requested.
The construction of the first or additional access approach will only be
o
granted where the requested location is considered practical and safe
in the sole discretion of the County.
The construction of a new approach to replace an existing approach
o
may be approved by the County subject to the existing approach being
removed.
All approaches constructed alongside existing asphalt concrete
o
pavement to be surfaced with like materials, as directed by the
County.
3.Before installation, all road approaches are to have prior approval. All road
approaches must be installed as per the Agreement for Installation of Road
Approaches.
4.All approved fees must be paid prior to new approach construction.
5.If an existing approach is to be utilized, the terms and conditions of the Road
Approach Agreement apply.
