Wickert, Manager of Planning & Development P. Elliott, Administrative Assistant, Planning & Development OTHERSIN ATTENDANCE: 1. CALL TO ORDER S. Stanway, Brooks Bulletin The Chairman called the meeting to order at 10:02 a.m. 2. EXCUSED FROM MEETING All members were present. 3. MINUTES 3.1. January 11, 2018 Meeting Minutes MOVED BY COUNCILLOR LIONEL JUSS that the minutes of the January 11, 2018 Municipal Planning Commission meeting be adopted as presented. MOTION CARRIED Municipal Planning Commission January 25, 2018 P-09/18 4. CALL FOR POST AGENDA ITEMS The Chairman called for post agenda items. 5. ADOPTION OF AGENDA The County Planner requested that Subdivision 2017-0-199 be removed from the agenda as the exact configuration for the proposed subdivided parcel has changed and the application will likely need to be recirculated. MOVED BY COUNCILLOR KELLY CHRISTMAN that the agenda be adopted as amended. MOTION CARRIED 6. SUBDIVISIONS 6.1. 2017-0-199 - SE1/4 27-18-16-W4M, To create one (1) new vacant parcel approximately 3.0 acres (1.214 ha) in size from an unsubdivided quarter section for residential use This item was removed from the agenda. 7. EDUCATION ITEM 7.1 MPC Report Education Session The Manager of Planning & Development provided background information on the proposed education sessions. The County Planner added that the list of topics was in no particular order. After further discussion, MPC requested that the first 3 topics for discussion be as follows: Alternative Energy Policies, The Dominion Land Survey and Land Titles, and Reserve Dedication Requirements. 8. POST AGENDA ITEMS There were no post agenda items. 9. IN CAMERA There were no in camera items. 10. QUESTION PERIOD MPC inquired about notifications to Councillors and County staff when a permitted use application is submitted. The Manager of Planning and Development indicated that since agricultural development is exempt, there is no notification, unless a variance is Page 2 of 3 Municipal Planning Commission January 25, 2018 requested. She explained that the permitted use report is included in the first meeting of the month and permitted use approvals are posted on the County website. The County L Planner added that changes to the MGA allows Council to determine notification processes used. 11.
