17th Annual Meeting
N'arch 11, 1970
The 17th Annual Meeting of the County of Tlewell No. 9 was held in
the Elks Hall at Brooks, Alberta at 2:00 p.m, on ?,~7ednesday, T~"`arch
11, 1970.
All Councillors were present, Secretary-Treasurer, Superintendent
of Schools, Agriculture Fieldman, Public Works Supervisor, School
Plant Supervisor and Assistant Secretary-Treasurer.
There were 35 ratepayers in attendance.

The meeting was opened for the election of a Chairman for the meeting.
R. Peltzer was nominated by C. Lund. Moved by H. Janzen and seconded
by B. Lore that nominations cease. Carried.

Moved by Joe Hajash and seconded by C. Lund that D. James act as
Secretary for the meeting. Carried.
Moved by P. Duby and seconded by P. Rempel that the proposed agenda
be adopted. Carried.
Minutes of the 1969 Annual Meeting were read. Moved by H. Grosfield
and seconded by W. Tdeufeld that the minutes be adopted as read.
Carried.
Municipal Inspector's report was read. T~ioved by G. Tomilson and
seconded by D. Grosfield that this report be accepted. Carried.

The School Chairman's report was received. Moved by D. Grosfield
and seconded by H. Grosfield that this report be accepted. Carried.

The Municipal Chairman's report was received. Moved by S. Husty and
seconded by K. Stevens that this report be accepted. Carried.

The Agriculture Chairman's report was received. T~loved by C. Schmidt
and seconded by J. Bergen that this report be accepted. Carried.
Bassano Hospital Chairman's report was received. T:oved by H. Janzen
and seconded by P. Rempel that this report be accepted. Carried.

Brooks Hospital Chairman's report was received. Aioved by D. Grosfield
and seconded by J. Bergen that this report be accepted. Carried.

Sr. Citizens Home Chairman's report was received. Moved by .~. Villads
and seconded by Joe Hajash that this report be accepted. Carried.

Nursing Home Chairman's report was received. 1`~oved by C. Lund anr.'
seconded by J. Bergen that this report be accepted. Carried.

The Farm Purchase Board Chairman's report was received.. Moved by
D. Grosfield and seconded by S. Hasty that this report be accepted.
Carried.
LZ-149P Reeve's report was received. Moved by G. Tomilson and seconded by
W, Neufeld that this report be accepted. Carried.

R vote of thanks was expressed to the School '?oard Chairman.

Moved by H, Grosfield and seconded by A, Villadsen that County
f3ouncil proceed with investigation of 1973 Canada Games and, if
feasible, proceed. Carried.
Moved by H. Janzen and seconded by B, Lore that Council examine the
wheat quota as set out by the Wheat Board, and that recorJnendations
be made as they see fit to improve the situation for irrigation farmers.
Carried.
Moved by P. Duty and seconded by H. Grosfield that meeting adjourn.
Carried.
Meeting adjourned at 4:45 p,m.
