Municipal Planning Commission
September 24, 1980
The regular meeting of the Municipal Planning Commission of the
County of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office at Brooks,
Alberta on September 24, 1980 at 7:50 p.m.

1, Minutes
The minutes of the meeting held August 20, 1980 were read to
the Commission. The Chairman declared the minutes adopted as
read.
2. New Business
1. Development Control Officer's Report
The Development Control Officer presented his report for September.
2. _Development Ap~licatioris
~) J. Puns ~- A development application by Jae Prins for an
auction barn and outside stalls was presented to the Commission.
Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve the application subject
to an all weather road being constructed and maintained. Carried.

b) Charter Ford Mercury - A development application by Charter Ford
Mercury for hangar at the Brooks airport was presented to the
Commission. Moved by E. Wi11ms that we approve the application
and waive the setback regulations. Carried.
c) W. Lutes - A development application by W. Lutes for a hangar
at the Brooks airport was presented to the Commission. Moved by
S. Merkl that we approve the application and-waive the setback
regulations. Carried,
d) Alberta Wheat Pool - A development application from Alberta
Wheat Pool for a grain elevator, storage buildings/tanks, retail
agro marketing centre and private rail siding was presented to
the Commission. Moved by Councillor Musgrove that we approve
the application for the elevator and rail siding as per Alb erta
Wheat Pool letter; with access road at southerly portion of
subdivision. Carried.
e1 Allan Gardner - A development application from Allan Gardner,
Architect for Alberta Gpvernment, for a storage building at the
Wildlife Centre was presented to the Commission. Moved by
Councillor Musgrove that we approve this application. Carried.
f) Sammy Sito and Ping Woon Kwan ~ A development application from
Sammy Sito and Ping Woon Kwan for a restaurant in NW 16-21-18-4
was presented to the Commission. Moved by Councillor Musgrove
that we approve the application subject to no objection by the
Town of Bassano. Carried.

g) S.R. & B, Gas Co-op - A development application by S.R. & B.
Gas Co-op for an office building in Scandia was presented to the
Commission.. Moved by Councillor Brockelsby that we approve this
application and waive the setback regulations on the frontage.

3. Tzailer Sizes
The minimum, area of mobile homes was discussed. Moved by
Councillor Musgrove that we recommend to County Council that
the land use controls of the purchase agreements for County
Lots in Scandia be amended to conform with the Land Use By-law.
Carried.
4. A Pearson - NynTcompliance
The Development Control Officer advised the Commission of the Order
of Compliance issued to Albert Pearson for his mobile home at Scandia.
