Municipal Planning Commission
March 18, 1981
The regular meeting of the Municipal Planning Commission of the
County of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office at Brooks,
Alberta on March 18, 1981 at 7:40 p.m.

1. Minutes
The minutes of the meeting held February 18, 1981 were read to
the Commission. Moved by T.Musgrove that we adopt these minutes.
Carried.
2. New Business
A. Land Use Changes
1. G. Wenzel - An application by G. Wenzel for a land use change
from Agriculture to Country Residence in Pt. SE 6-19-IS-4 was
presented. Moved by T. Musgrove that the application be tabled.
Carried.
2. Mortensen Farms Ltd. - An application by Mortensen Farms Ltd.
for land use change from Urban Fringe to Country Residence in
Pt. NW 9-18-14-4 was presented. Moved by J. Hajash that we
recommend to County Council the advertising of this re-classification.
Carried.
3. K. Babb - An application by Ken Babb for a land use change
from Urban Fringe to Country Residence in Pt. NW 4-18-14-4 was
presented. Moved by S. Merkl that we refuse the application
because of insufficient acreage for a country residence. Moved
by T. Musgrove that the motion be tabled. Carried.
4. H. Dyck - Moved by T. Musgrove that the application by
Henry Dyck for reclassification of Pt. SW 7-19-13-4 from Urban
Fringe to Country Residence be brought to the table. Carried.
Moved by S. Merkl that we recommend to County Council the
advertising of this reclassification. Carried.
5. J. Clark - An application by John Clark for a land use change
from Agricultural to Country Residence in Pt. NE 34-19-14-4 was
presented. As there was no immediate need for this application,
no action was taken.
B. I C G Canadian Propane - Waive Set-back
An application by I C G Canadian Propane to waive set-back
regulations for a building in Pt. SW 9-19-14-4 was presented.
Moved by E. Willms that we waive set-back regulations as
requested. Carried.

C. Development Application - V. Lonsberry
An application by V. Lonsberry to sell horse trailers from
SE 5-20-14-4 was presented. Moved by E. Willms that we
approve the application subject to completion of the application
and annual review. Carried.
D. Hamlet Mobile Home Lots
Discussion took place regarding the use of two lots for one
mobile home in Scandia. Moved by T. Musgrove that the Scandia
Advisory Committee review this matter. Carried.
3. Other Business
D. Coffey presented a report on unsightly premises in the County.
4. Adjourn
The meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
