The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County
of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office at Brooks, Alberta
on Wednesday, June 22, 1983 commencing at 4:00 p.m.

Minutes
Minutes of the May 18, 1983 meeting were read to the Commission.
Moved by Councillor Hajash that we adopt these minutes as read.
Carried.
Business from Minutes
1. Pat Shepherd - Moved-in Building - Hamlet of Patricia
Moved by Councillor Scheuerman that we lift this item from the
table. Carried.
After discussion on this item, it was moved by E. Willms that
we refuse this application for moved-in house due to the side
yard distance and that it does not conform with our regulations
concerning moved-in houses. Carried.
2. Mel Myers - Moved-in building - Hamlet of Patricia
Moved by Councillor Hajash that we lift this item from the table.
Carried.
After discussion on this item, it was moved by Councillor
Scheuerman that we approve the application subject to a letter
of credit and all conditions as set out by County Council. Carried.
New Business
1. James Miller - Trailer Set-back
A request from James Miller for a waiver of By-law regarding r
the 125 set-back from the centre of the road allowance wa$ [
.r1s+. ( jir
presented. After discussion, it was moved by Couas;'
Merkl that we approve this request but register a Caveat
against his property indicating that any future move of this
building will be borne at his expense. Carried.
2. Ohama - Trailer Permit
The Development Officer requested information from the Commission
in regard to permits for trailers on the Ohama property. He was
instructed by the Commission that a permit is required for this
trailer.
3. E.I.D. Historical Park - Moved-in Residence
Information was presented to the Commission in regard to an
application for a moved-in house to the E.I.D. Historical Park.
This house is to be used for the caretaker. After discussion,
it was moved by Councillor Hajash that we refer this item to the
Scandia Hamlet Advisory Committee for written recommendations.
Carried.
4. Ross Owen - Moved-in House - Patricia
', Application from Ross Owen for a moved-in house to his farm
', located in Patricia was presented to the Commission. Moved.
by S. Merkl that we approve this application. Carried.

5. Development Permit - Frank Dyck
Development Permit for a moved-in house .from Frank Dyck was
presented to the Commission. After discussion on this item
it was moved by Councillor Hajash that we approve this
application subject to a letter of credit in the amount of
$2000.00; also that he be allowed to locate a trailer on this
property while this house is being built. Carried.
6. Buildings Without Permits
The Development Officer reported on the number of buildings
being moved within the County without permits. After discussion
on this item, it was moved by S. Merkl that this item be referred
to County Council for further study. Carried.
7. Uncompleted Buildings & Building Code
Discussion took place in regard to this item with no action being
taken.
8. E.I.D. Historical Park
Discussion took place in regard to this Park and the general
renewable permit for displays in this Park. No further action
was taken on this matter.
9. Gerald Robinson - Development
Discussion took place in regard to this development and the
Development Officer was instructed to report back on this
development at the next M.P.C. Meeting.
10. Jerry St. John
The Development Officer reported on the trailer residence
of Mr. St. John at the Redelback Subdivision. This was an
information item.
11. Bob McKean
The Development Officer advised that Mr. Mc Bean has nearly
completed the double wide trailer and that a recommendation for
the release of the letter of credit will be made at the next
M.P.C. Meeting.
12. Pat Shepherd - Moved-in Trailer for Office Purposes
This item was presented to the Commission for information.
13. Esso Service Station - Highway No. 1 - Brooks
Application to install a diesel fuel gas tank at their .location
was presented to the Commission. Moved by E. Willms that we
approve this application and advertise. Carried.
14. H. Burk - Feedlot Application
Information was presented to the Commission in regard to this
item and it was referred back to the Development Officer to
obtain more information under Section 4-C-1 from the Department
of Agriculture, and approval of a minimum separation.
