Municipal Planning Commission Meeting

The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County
of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office at Brooks, Alberta
on Wednesday, June 20, 1984 commencing at 4:00 p.m.

Minutes
Minutes of the May 23, 1984 meeting were read to the Commission.
Moved by Councillor Workes that we adopt these minutes as read.
Carried.
Minutes of the June 7, 1984 Special Meeting were read to the
Commission. Moved by S. Rasmussen that we adopt these minutes
as read. Carried.
Business from Minutes
3-2 R. Richards
The Development Control Officer advised that our Order of Compliance
letter had been returned to us. It was suggested that we now obtain
a Title Search on this property to see if more information can be
obtained as to the owner.
3-6 M. Baksa
Moved by Councillor Scheuerman that this item be lifted from the
table. Carried.
The Development Control Officer reported on this item further
and advised that the Plan is now in the process of being registered.
After discussion, it was moved by Councillor Workes that we refuse
this Development Permit as it is non-conforming to our Land Use
By-law. Carried.

II The Commission was advised that this application has been withdrawn.
', 3-12 M. Kenney
Moved by E. Willms that we lift this item from the table. Carried.
The Development Control Officer reported on this item and advised
that Mr. Kenney has not made contact with this office at this time.
It was agreed that we contact Mr. Kenney and have him meet with the
Commission at its next regular meeting. Moved by Councillor Workes
that we table this item until the next M.P.C. Meeting. Carried.

New Business
1. C. Amulung - Moved-in Mobile Home
Information was presented to the Commission in regard to this
application. Moved by Councillor Scheuerman that we approve this
application. for advertising. Carried.
2. McColeman Trucking
The Development Control Officer requested information in regard
to the possibility of this Company developing a trucking firm on
a Country Residence parcel. The Commission advised that this
operation would not be permitted.
3. N. Young - Land Use Change
Application for Land Use Change from Urban Fringe to Country
Residential, for a 5.15 acre parcel, was presented to the
Commission from Norman Young. After discussion, it was moved
by Councillor Workes that we approve this application ,on the
5.15. acres, for advertising. Carried.
The Commission requested that Mr. Young meet with them to discuss
the matter of the Land Use Change for the 7.50 acres at the next
M.P.C. Meeting.
4. R. & A. Gauthier
Application from R. & A. Gauthier for a moved-in double wide
mobile home was presented to the Commission. Moved by E. Willms
that we approve the advertising of this mobile home. Carried.
Other Business
1. Policy re: Animal Units on Country Residences
Discussion took place in regard to this matter. Moved by
Councillor Scheuerman that the M.P.C. recommend to the County
Council the approval of a Policy establishing the number of
animal units that could be allowed on Country Residence parcels.
Carried.
2. Guidelines re: Country Residences
Gary Klassen, of the Planning Commission, advised that new
guidelines have been set by the Planning Commission in regard
to Country Residences and this Policy would be presented at the
next M.P.C. Meeting.
He also presented information in regard to the proposed Water
Study for Country Residences. It was proposed that this Policy
be discussed at the August Council Meeting.
It was also agreed that the next M.P.C. Meeting commence at
3:00 p.m. in order that the Committee may discuss the guidelines
regarding Country Residences.
