HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-02-24 Municipal Planning Commission (Regular) MinutesCounty of Newell No. 4 Municipal Planning Commission February 24, 1987 The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office at Brooks, Alberta on Tuesday, February 24, 1987 cotmnencing at 1:30 p.m. Members Present Chairman W. Wells Councillors V. Fabian L. Nelson Planner D. Fleming D.C.O. D. Grosfield Secretary D. James 1. Minutes Minutes of the January 27, 1987 meeting were presented to the Commission. Moved by Councillor Nelson that we adopt these minutes as circulated. Carried. 2. Business from Minutes 1. Appeals The Secretary advised that appeals have been received on the following: Permit ~~668 - Lakeside Feeders Ltd. & ~k669 - Lakeside Packers. These appeals will be heard by the Development Appeal Board on March 10, 1987. 3. Permits 1. X6672 - Erik Christensen - Moved-in Double Wide SE 21-16-13-4 - Tilley __ After review, it was moved by S. Rasmussen that we approve this application and proceed with advertising. Carried. 2. X6676 - Chris Freimuth - Moved-in Mobile Home Lot 16 Block 2 Plan 7410502 - Rolling Hills After review, it was moved by Councillor Nelson that we approve this application and proceed with the necessary advertising. G.~ ~ Carried. ~~ 3. X6673 - Dick A. Dick - Steel Shop Building NE 36-18-15-4 - Brooks After review, it was moved by Councillor Fabian that we table this application and request a letter of approval from the owner of the property. Once this is received, the application will be circulated to the Town of Brooks for their comments. Carried. 4. Land Use Changes 1. E. Boswell Application for Land Use Change from Industrial to Residential from E. Boswell was presented to the Commission. After a lengthy discussion on this item, it was moved by Councillor Fabian that we refuse this application due to this area being a total industrial area. Carried. Excused from Meeting Councillor Fabian requested that he be excused from the meeting. Carried. 5, Licences 1. Trudy Patterson - Silk Plant & Gift Shop SW 27-14-14-4 - Rolling Hills Application for a Silk Plant & Gift Shop was presented to the Commission. Moved by E. Willms that we approve this application. Carried. 6. Subdivisions 1. 86 SE 72 - Ramer Ranches Moved by E. Willms that we lift this item from the table. Carried. Mr. A. Ramer attended the meeting to present information and answer questions from the Commission. After discussion, it was moved by Councillor Nelson that we refer this application back to the Regional Planning Commission and request that the developer submit a new plan on this proposed subdivision. Carried. 2. 86 SE 84 - Urban Moved by E. Willms that we lift this item from the table. Carried. Mr. Rob Urban was in attendance to present information and answer questions on this subdivision. After discussion, it was moved by S. Rasmussen that we refer this application back to the Regional Planning Commission and request that it be resubmitted for further review. Carried. 3. 87 SE 6 - Owen After review, it was moved by E. Willms that we recommend the approval of this subdivision to County Council, subject to a Servicing Agreement for road approaches. Carried. 4. 87 SE 7 - Schuett After review, it was moved by Cuoncillor Nelson that we approve this application. Carried. 7, Other Business 1.
