Municipal Planning Commission Meeting
January 26, 1988
The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County
of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office at Brooks, Alberta
on Tuesday, January 26, 1988 commencing at 10:00 a.m.

1, Minutes
Minutes of the December 15, 1987 meeting were presented to the
Commission. Moved by Councillor Nelson that we adopt these
minutes as circulated. Carried.
2, Business from Minutes
2-5 87 SE 83 - Endersby
This item remained tabled.
7-4 Aimoto Subdivision
Moved by S. Rasmussen that we lift this item from the table.
Carried.
After further review, it was moved by Councillor Nelson that
we refer this matter to County Council. Carried.
3, Permits
1. ~~733 - Harv & Bea Seely - Whispering Creek Petting Ranch
NW 12-20-14-4 - Millicent
~~_ Moved by Councillor Nelson•that we approve this permit. Carried.
4, Land Use Changes
1. Kris & Bea Vikedal - NW 34-18-15-4
After reviewing this application for a Land Use Change from
Urban Fringe to Country Residence, it was moved by S. Rasmussen
that we refuse this application as there is insufficient area
in this proposed subdivision for a required service road. Carried.
5, Licences
1. Valerie Marsh & K.W. Marsh - Rainier
Application for a Country Inn Catering Service operating from
the Oasis Restaurant, at Rainier, was presented to the Commission.
Moved by Councillor Nelson that we approve this licence. Carried.
2. Nelson Torkelson - SW 28-19-13-4
After reviewing this application for the sale of non-perishable
groceries, it was moved by Councillor Fabian that we approve
this licence. Carried.

6. Subdivisions
1. 87 SE 96 - Wester
After this application was reviewed, it was moved by Councillor
Fabian that we recommend the approval of this subdivision to
County Council, with cash-in-lieu set at $1500.00 per acre.
Carried.
2. 88 SE 1 - Tona Golden Top Farms Ltd.
After reviewing this application, it was moved by Councillor
Nelson that we recommend the approval of this subdivision to
County Council, subject to a turnaround on the service road.
Carried.
3, 88 SE 2 - Herbst
After reviewing this application, it was moved by Councillor
Fabian that we recommend the approval of this subdivision to
County Council. Carried.
4. 88 SE 4 - Lakeside Farm Industries Ltd.
After reviewing this application, it was moved by E. Willms
that we table this application for more information. Carried.
5. 88 SE 5 - Rafter Nine Stables Ltd.
After reviewing this application, it was moved by Councillor
Fabian that we recommend the approval of this subdivision to
County Council, with cash-in-lieu being set at $1500.00 per
acre. Carried.

- NW 32-20-14-4
1. Waiver of Set-back - W. Finnerty
A request for waiver of set-back for construction of a barn
was presented to the Commission. After review, it was moved
by Councillor Nelson that we approve this waiver as requested,
subject to any future move of the building required due to road
widening, being at the expense of the owner. Carried.
Lunch
The Commission recessed for lunch from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m.
g, Review of Land Use By-law
The Commission continued the review of this By-law.
Excused from Meeting
Councillor Fabian requested that he be excused from the meeting
at 2:50 p.m.
Further Review of the By-law
The Commission agreed that they would continue their review
of this By-law at the next regular M.P.C. Meeting on February
23, 1988 with the M.P.C. Meeting commencing at 10:00 a.m.
