Municipal Planning Commission Meeting
January 24, 1990
The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County
of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office at Brooks, Alberta
on Wednesday, January 24, 1990 commencing at 10:00 a.m.

Excused from Meeting
Moved by Councillor Nelson that we excuse Councillor Bulger from
this meeting. Carried.
1. Review of New Land Use by-law
The Commission made a total review of this proposed By-law with
various small amendments being made to the By-law. The final
draft will now be drawn up and copies provided for the Commission
and County Council to review. Following the review, public meetings
will be held and the final reading of the By-law will be carried out..
2• Minutes
Minutes of the December 18, 1989 meeting were presented to the
Commission. Moved by G. Niznik that we adopt these minutes as
circulated. Carried.
3• Business from Minutes
3-3 Permit ~k888 - Don Martin
Moved by E. Buday that we lift this item from the table. Carried.

After a lengthy discussion on this proposed development, it was
moved by Councillor Nelson that we refuse this application as
it does not conform with our Urban Fringe Policy. Carried.
4-1 Subdivision - Bett Dick
This item remained tabled.

No Permits were presented.
5• Land Use Changes
No Land Use Changes were presented.
6• Home Occupation Licences
1. ~~11 - Susan Pahl-Gutfriend - Manufacture Clothing
NW 7-14-13-4 - Rolling Hills
After hearing the information on this licence, it was moved by
E. Buday that we approve this application. Carried.
2. ~~12 - Irene Juanita Reimer - Private Dining Room Service
NE 33-23-18-4 - Bassano
After hearing the information on this licence, it was moved by
G. Niznik that we approve this application. Carried.

No Subdivisions were presented.
8• Other Business
1. Cecil Blair Property
Cecil Blair met with the Commission to discuss proposals on
development and subdivision on his property adjacent to the
west boundary of the Town of Brooks. He was advised that no
further action could be taken at this time until the Urban
Fringe Policy for that area is developed.
9• Development Report
The Development Report for January was presented.
10. Adjourn
Meeting adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
