Minutes of the Municipal Planning Commission Meeting
February 27, 1990
The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County
of Newell No. 4 was held in the County Office at Brooks, Alberta
on Tuesday, February 27, 1990 commencing at 1:30 p.m.

Excused from Meeting
Moved by Councillor Bulger that E. Buday be excused from this
meeting. Carried.
1. Minutes
Minutes of the January 24, 1990 meeting were presented. Moved
by Councillor Nelson that we adopt these minutes as circulated.
Carried.
2. Business from Minutes
There was no business arising from the minutes.
3. Permits
1. ~~892 - Merv Hartman - Moved-in House (Granny Suite)
Lot 7 Block 1 Plan 8010251 - Brooks
After review, it was moved by Councillor Bulger that we approve
this application, as a Granny Suite only, and proceed with the
necessary advertising. Carried.
2. ~~893 - Cozac Holdings Ltd. - Moved-in Mobile Office & Residence
Lots 3 & 4 Block 2 Plan 8310515 - Brooks
~~?' After review, it was moved by Councillor Nelson that we approve
this application and proceed with the necessary advertising.
Carried.
4• Land Use Changes
There were no Land Use Changes.
5• Home Occupation Licences
There were no Home Occupation Licences presented.
6• Subdivisions
1. 90 SE 15 - Shawbur Farms Ltd.
Application from Shawbury Farms Ltd. for subdivision in
NW 31-14-13-4 for purposes of establishing a recreation area
and related building was presented. After discussion, it was
moved by G. Niznik that we recommend approval of this application
to County Council and that we defer the Public Reserve. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Nelson that we advise the Public Works Department
to obtain the necessary right-of-ways for road widening on this
property at the earliest possible date. Carried.
7. Other Business
1. County of Wheatland - Eagle Lake Area Structure Plan
Letter advising of a Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday,
March 6, 1990 at 7:00 p.m. at the County of Wheatland offices
was presented for information.
2. Calgary Regional Planning Commission - SW 5-25-17 4
This was an application by the Hutterian Brethren of Ridgeland
for a cemetery at the above location. There were no further
comments from the Commission on this proposed subdivision.
3. Date for March M.P.C. Meeting
Due to the Association Spring Convention, it was moved by
G. Niznik that the March M.P.C. Meeting be held on March 20th
at 1:00 p.m. Carried.
4. Permit ~~828 - Maxine R. Breakell
Information on this matter was presented to the Commission by
the Development Control Officer along with a letter from Blake,
Cassels & Graydon. After a very lengthy discussion on this item,
and conversations with Brownlee Fryett, it was moved by Councillor
Nelson that the Chairman, Development Control Officer and Administrator
arrange a meeting with Mrs. Breakell to discuss this matter further.
Carried.
5. Development Report
Moved by Councillor Bulger that we accept the Development Report
for February, 1990. Carried.
8. Adjourn
Moved by G. Niznik that the meeting adjourn at 3:35 p.m. Carried.
