Minutes of Municipal Planning Commission Meeting
May 9, 1995
The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was held in
the County Office at Brooks, Alberta on Tuesday, May 9, 1995 commencing at 1:30 p.m.

2. Minutes
Minutes of the April 25, 1995 meeting were presented to the Commission. Moved by L. Buday
that we adopt these minutes as corrected. Carried.

Moved by Councillor Loewen that the agenda be adopted as amended. Carried.

Country Residential to Light Industrial
Moved by Councillor Scheuerman that we recommend to Council the denial of this request for
Land Use Change. Carried.
6. Delegations
1. Randy Baksa -Land Use Change - SW 1-19.14-4 -Agriculture to Mobile Home Park
Moved by Councillor Loewen that we recommend to Council the approval of this Land Use Change
subject to approval of the Development Permit. Carried.
2. Monty Mortensen -Land Use Change - Pt. NW 9-18.14-4 -Agriculture to Country Residential
Moved by L. Buday that we recommend to Council the approval of this Land Use Change subject
to subdivision approval. Carried.
3. Neil Johnson -Land Use Change - NW 3-19-14-413 acres- -Agriculture to Country Residential
Moved by Councillor Loewen that we recommend to Council the approval of this Land Use Change
subject to subdivision approval. Carried.
7. Permits
1. X1361 -Lakeside Packers - Exaansion of Existing Facility - SW 19.19-14-4 -Brooks
Moved by Councillor Scheuerman that we approve this Permit. Carried.

Moved by L. Buday that we approve this Licence. Carried.
9. Land Use Changes
These were dealt with under Delegations.

This subdivision was referred to the next meeting.

11. Development Report
The Development Control Officer presented the report far April 19 to May 3, 1995. Moved by
/ B. Bergen that we accept this report. Carried.
12. Correspondence
There was no correspondence.
13. Other Business
1. General Municipal Plan
Discussion took place on the General Municipal Plan to be prepared in the next two years.
2. Development Permit Flow Chart

The Commission made a few amendments to this Chart which are to be incorporated and then
handed out to individuals for information.
3. Amended -Rural Residential & Country Residential
The amended copies were presented to the Commission for information.
4. Apaeal on Permit /#1347 • Cameron Christianson
The Secretary presented information on the appeal to the above-noted Permit.
14. Post Agenda Items
1. Land Use Change -Robert Rommens - SW 14-20-14-4 -Agriculture to Countrv Residential
Councillor Scheuerman asked to be excused from discussion and voting on this item.
I Moved by B. Bergen that we recommend to Council the denial of this Land Use Change due to ~,}
~ / its proximity to a dairy farm. Carried.

Councillor Scheuerman resumed participation in the meeting.
2. Land Use Change -Susan Schoneck - SW 18.19.13-4 -Agriculture to Countrv Residential
Moved by Councillor Scheuerman that we recommend to Council the approval of this Land Use
Change subject to subdivision approval. Carried.
3. Sherry Gv-Varga -Business Licence
Letter from Sherry Gy-Varga requesting the County's permission to operate a Mobile Concession
Booth at the Ranchland Teepee Rest Area, located in NW 9-20.16-4 along the TransCanada
Highway, was presented to the Commission. She advised that Alberta Transportation requested
the County's approval before they would issue her a Permit. After discussion, it was moved by
L. Buday that we advise Sherry Gy-Varga that we have no objections to the operation of this
Mobile Concession Booth. Carried.
