Minutes of Municipal Planning Commission Meeting
May 30, 1995
The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was held in
the County Office at Brooks, Alberta on Tuesday, May 30, 1995 commencing at 10:00 a.m.

2. Minutes
Minutes of the May 9, 1995 meeting were presented to the Commission. Moved by B. Bergen
that we adopt these minutes as circulated. Carried.
3. Call for Post Agenda Items
The Chairman called for post agenda items.
4. Adoption of Agenda
Moved by Councillor Loewen that the agenda be adopted as amended. Carried.
5. Business from Minutes
8-7 Permit #1353 -Carl FortinlNeil Stewart -Block 2 Plan 8210565
Moved by B. Bergen that we refuse this permit as Council did not approve the Land Use Change
i-- and it does not conform to our Land Use Bylaw. Carried.
9-2 Land Use Change - Whaley & Doug Mar - 33.18.15-4 • Agriculture to Mobile Home Park
The Development Control Officer and Administration advised that they have not received any
further information. This item will be taken off the agenda until further information is provided.
14.1 Dog Kennel -Lot 9 Block 1 Plan 7910803
After discussion, it was moved by Councillor Loewen that a letter be sent to Virginia Collins
advising her that dog kennels are not permitted on a Country Residential lot, that she will be
allowed only one breeding pair with one litter, and that she make the necessary arrangements
to comply with this order by September 30, 1995. Carried.

Councillor Scheuerman asked to be excused from discussion and voting on this item.
Moved by B. Bergen that we recommend to Council the denial of this subdivision as Council
denied the Land Use Change. Carried.
Councillor Scheuerman resumed participation in the meeting.

Administration advised that Mr. Mortensen was not able to provide all the information required
at this time. Moved by L. Buday that we refer this subdivision to the next meeting. Carried.
6. Permits

Lot 12 Block 4 Plan 9411176 -Lake Newell Resort
Moved by Councillor Loewen that we deny this Permit as it does not conform to our Land Use
Bylaw. Carried.
Moved by Councillor Loewen that we send a letter to H. Jager Development, with a copy to the
applicant, suggesting that they should possibly look into changes to the Land Use By-law to
accommodate detached garages in the Jager Oevelopment. Carried.

Moved by Councillor Loewen that we recommend to Council the approval of this Land Use Change
from Agriculture to Country Residential. Carried.
9. Subdivisions
1. 95 SE 18 - NW 28.20-14-4 -Warren & Terry Fulton
Moved by B. Bergen that this Subdivision be referred to the next meeting. Carried.
2. 95 SE 51 - SW 18-19.13-4 -Susan Schoneck
Moved by L. Buday that we ask Susan Schoneck to prepare a revised plan with larger lot sizes
and a different access road, to be brought back to the next meeting. Carried.
10. Development Resort
The Development Control Officer presented the report for May 4, 1995 to May 30, 1995.
Moved by L. Buday that we accept this report. Carried.

There was no correspondence.

There was no other business.
13. Post Agenda Items
1. June Meeting Dates
Moved by L. Buday that we hold an extra meeting in June and that it be set for June 13, 1995
commencing at 10:00 a.m. Carried.
