Minutes of Municipal Planning Commission Meeting
December 30,1997
The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County of Newelt No. 4 was held in the
County Office at Brooks, AB on Tuesday, December 30, 1997 commencing at 10:00 a.m.

2. Minutes
Minutes of the November 25,1997 meeting were presented to the Commission. Moved by Councillor
Baksa that we adopt these minutes as presented. Carried.
3. Meeting Date Change
Moved by Councillor Baksa that the January meeting be moved to January 21, 1998. Carried.
4. Call for Post Agenda Items
The Chairman called for post agenda items.
5. Adoption of Agenda
Moved by J. Doerksen that the agenda be adopted as amended. Carried.

Moved by Councillor Baksa that we do not proceed with the rezoning of single parcel Country
Residential areas. Carried.

10. Subdivisions

Moved by Councillor Baksa that we recommend to Council the approval of this subdivision subject
to the applicant entering into an agreement with the County of Newell for the installation of any
required accesses for the proposed and remnant parcels. Carried.
2. 97 NL 49 -Parcel A, Plan 7100 FF IS.E. 18-19-13-W41 E.I.D.
Moved by J. Doerksen that we recommend to Council the approval of this subdivision subject to the
consolidation of proposed Block 1 with the remainder of the SE'k -18-19-13-W4. Carried.

The Development Report for November 19, i 997 to Oecember 24, 1997 was presented to the
Commission. Moved by Councillor Baksa that we approve this report. Carried.

There were no correspondence items.
13. Other Business
1. Subdivision & Development Appeal Board Decisions
These items were submitted for information.
14. Post Agenda Items
1. 97 NL 50 -Subdivision - SW 1-20-14-W4 • Rommens Robert
'^' Moved by J. Doerksen that we recommend to Council the approval of this subdivision subject to the
applicant meeting all requirements of the Eastern Irrigation District with respect to the conveyance
of water and subject to the applicant entering into an agreement with the County of Newell for the
installation of any required accesses for the proposed and remnant parcels. Carried.
As there is no expansion of the adjacent road foreseen, no dedication or caveat for dedication of a
5 metre right-of-way is required.
2. Land Use Bylaw - Permitted I Discretionary Uses
Highway Commercial. Industrial Light Industrial
The new planner is to review the permitted and discretionary uses in the above districts and bring
recommendations to the next meeting.

1. Roger Anderson -Scandia Hamlet Advisor Board -Minimum Residence Size
Roger Anderson, of the Scandia Hamlet Advisory Board, was in attendance and presented information
on the above item. The Advisory Board will have further discussions on this matter and bring forward
a proposal at a future meeting.
2. Karen Rose -Land Use Change -Block 1, Plan 9611587
INE 8-18-14-W41 Country Residential to Industrial
Karen Rose was in attendance and presented information on the above Land Use Change. Moved by
Councillor Baksa that we recommend to Council the approval of the above noted land use change.

3. Report on Intensive Livestock Seminar
Chairman Fabian and J. Doersken reported on the Intensive Livestock Seminar held in Lethbridge on
December 3, 1997.
