MUNICIPAL PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
December 23, 2010
The regular Municipal Planning Commission Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was
held in the County Office at Brooks, AB on Thursday, December 23, 2010 commencing
at 9:59 a.m.

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 9:59 a.m.

P- 158/10 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR M. NESBITT that the minutes of the November 25,
2010 Municipal Planning Commission meeting be adopted as presented.

4. CALL FOR POST AGENDA ITEMS
The Chairman called for post agenda items.
5. ADOPTION OF AGENDA
P- 159/10 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR I. SCHROEDER that the agenda be adopted as
presented.

6. DEVELOPMENT REPORT - NOVEMBER 1 -30. 2010
P- 160/10 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR M. DOUGLASS that the Development Report be
adopted as presented.

7. SUBDIVISIONS

It was noted that since Council had previously approved a policy which
establishes values for Municipal Reserve, that M.P.C. could now proceed
with reviewing the 3 applications which had been tabled pending approval of
a policy.

To subdivide 2 parcels from an unsubdivided quarter section.
The County Planner provided background information on the proposed
subdivision.
P- 161/10 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR I. SCHROEDER that the Municipal Planning
Commission APPROVE subdivision #2010 -0 -243, subject to the following
conditions:
1. That all outstanding property taxes shall be paid to the County of
Newell.
2. That the applicant or owner or both enter into an agreement with the
County of Newell for the installation of any required road approaches to
the proposed or remnant parcels.
3. That the applicant submit to the Subdivision Authority a copy of a sketch
from an Alberta Land Surveyor that certifies the location and dimensions
.1) of the existing buildings and the exact dimensions of the lot to be
subdivided.

To subdivide an existing 15.9 acre (6.45 ha) parcel to create one new lot
for Country Residential use.
The County Planner provided background information on the proposed
subdivision.
P- 162/10 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR B. DE)ONG that the Municipal Planning Commission
APPROVE subdivision #2010 -0 -250, subject to the following conditions:
1. That all outstanding property taxes shall be paid to the County of
Newell.
2. That the applicant or owner or both enter into an agreement with the
County of Newell for the installation of any required road approaches to
the proposed and /or remnant parcels.
3. That the applicant submit to the Subdivision Authority a copy of a sketch

The County Planner provided background information on the proposed
subdivision.
P- 163/10 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR M. NESBITT that the Municipal Planning Commission
APPROVE subdivision #2010 -0 -266, subject to the following conditions:
1. That all outstanding property taxes shall be paid to the County of
Newell.
2. That the applicant or owner or both enter into a Development
Agreement with the County of Newell which shall be registered
concurrently with the final plan against the title(s) being created.

8. OTHER BUSINESS
Alberta Onsite Wastewater Management System Convention
The Assistant Administrator questioned Council if there was any interest
in attending the conference.

P- 164/10 MOVED BY COUNCILLOR B. DEJONG that the Municipal Planning Commission
APPROVE two Councillors attendance to the conference as a function of Council.
