Organizational Meeting

The Organizational Meeting of the County of Newell No. 4 was held
in the County Office, Brooks, Alberta on »ecember 2, 1970 at
1:30 p.m.

The Secretary then opened the i"~eeting for Nominations of a Reeve
for the forthcoming ,year.

Result of vote - Mr. T.N. Musgrove was elected Reeve for the
forthcoming year.

Meeting dates: Moved by Councillor Tautfest that the T~eetin~s
be held on the first full week of each month, being school on.

Moved by Councillor Fabian. that the School Committee consist of
all County Councillors anal the ~ Town. & Village Members. Carried.

of three County Councillors. Carried.
Town. & Village Members - Moved bar Councillor Larsen. that we accept
the appointments of I~rs. Ruby Hiebert of Duchess, and I~"r. oldie
Smith of Bassano as School Representatives to the County School.

and the Secretary or Assistant Secretary with one of each signing,
have signing authority for all General. Accounts of the County.

Moved b,y Coun.cillor Larsen. that the Secretary or the Assistant
Secretary have signing authority for the Payroll Account of the
County. C;-rried.
Moved by Councillor i~abian that By-law X16 being Borrowing By-law
in the amount of X500,000,00 receive first, second, third and
final reading. Carried Unanimously.

Resolution
Be it resolved that in accordance with Municipal Government Act,
the following remunerations be paid to the Chairman, Councillors,
and Members of the School Committee, Agricultural Committee,
Farm Purchase Board, and the Court of Revision for the year 1971.
$20,00 per day for each Councillor or member for each Meeting
attended.
12¢ per mile for each mile necessarily travelled in coming to
and returning from Meetings of the Council or Committee.
$20.00 per day for the Chairman for each day necessarily spent
in the discharge of his duties as Chairman other than attendance
at Council Meetings.
12¢ per mile for each mile necessarily travelled in discharge.. of
his duties as Chairman.
$20.00 per day to each Councillor or Member for the time necessarily
occupied in laying out or inspecting work performed or to be
performed for the County.
12¢ per mile for each mile necessarily travelled in respect to the
laying out or inspection of work performed or to be performed for
the County.
$20.00 per day to each Councillor or member attending Committee
Meetings.
12¢ per mile for each mile necessarily travelled in respect of
Committee Meetings. '
$20.00 per day to the Reeve for each day served in performing his
duties as Reeve of the County.
12¢ per mile for each mile necessarily travelled in respect of his
duties as Reeve.
Done and passed with the unanimous consent of the Council this
2nd day of December, 1970.
