', Organizational Meeting
October 24, 1977
The Organizational Meeting of the County of Newell Council was held
in the County Office at Brooks, Alberta on Monday, October 24, 1977
commencing at 1:50 p.m.

The Administrator called the meeting to order

He then opened the Meeting for nomination and election of Reeve
for the County of Newell. T. Musgrove was nominated by J. Hajash,
Moved by Councillor Bartlett that nominations cease. Carried.
Reeve Musgrove took over the chair. The meeting was now opened for
the nomination and election of Deputy Reeve. P. Bartlett was

Moved by Councillor Janzen that the full Council sit on the Municipal

The Meeting was opened for nomination and election of Chairman for

Moved by Councillor Hajash that the full Council sit on the Board of
Education. Carried.
Agricultural Committee
Moved by Councillor Janzen that three members of Council sit on the
Agricultural Committee. Carried.

Moved by Councillor Christensen that meeting dates for County Council
be set for the first Friday of the first full week of the month and
the Friday of the second week following this, other than the meetings
as set out on the calendar for November, December & January. Carried.

Moved by Councillor Christensen that the mileage rate for the County

Per Diem
Moved by Councillor Janzen that the per diem for Council and Committee
members be set at $50.00 per meeting. Carried.

Travel Allowance
Moved by Councillor Boehme that the travel allowance for the County
be set at $15.00 per day. Carried.
Banking
Moved by Councillor Christensen that the banking be set up where
the Reeve or Deputy Reeve, County Administrator or Assistant County
Administrator sign all the required cheques with the exception of
the payroll, which will be signed on a transfer cheque by the
Administrator or Assistant Administrator. Carried.
The current bond was presented to the Council for their inspection.
